A psychologist trained at the National University of San Marcos, and holding both a master's and a doctorate from the University of Kansas, her passion has led her to empower thousands of families and train more than 50,000 parents and professionals in 28 countries.
Recognized worldwide, Dr. Mayo has been honored with awards such as the Humanitarian Award from the International Association for Applied Behavior Analysis, the Queen Sofía Award of Spain, the Order of the Sun of Peru, and the Campodónico Award, among others. She has also been recognized by Forbes as one of the 50 most powerful women in Peru.
The educational and independent living model she leads at CASP is now being replicated in Argentina, Brazil, and Panama, inspiring institutions around the world. Her greatest motivation is to help society focus on the abilities that each person has, rather than any diagnosis they may have, so that they can become independent, productive, and happy.
